Welcome to MyBeefCheckoff.com, a new source of information about the national $1 beef checkoff. This site is designed to help you learn more about how the checkoff is managed, about the programs you fund through the checkoff and, most important, about results your checkoff has produced. Please note that all producers now have the option of receiving a monthly newsletter by simply typing in your e-mail address (bottom, left menu) and letting us know whether you’re a beef or dairy producer. As always, we want to hear from you if you have questions or comments.
The menu to the left will help you discover more about checkoff programs, but to get you started, here are a couple of programs you might not know about:
Beef Power
Steak tops the list of foods that consumers believe delivers the most energy for them, according to a recent checkoff-funded survey. In addition, 79 percent of Americans say grilling is a popular pastime for them, and 63 percent say the food they most often cook on the grill is beef. Be sure to check out the checkoff-funded
www.BeefItsWhatsForDinner.com Web site for fresh grilling season updates, a refreshed recipe section and new grilling facts, figures and images of seasonal beef entrées.
A Virtual Tour of America’s Farms and Ranches
The growing online environment makes it critical for beef producers to convey their stories in non-traditional formats. With this in mind, checkoff staff distributed video camera kits to select beef producer spokespeople recently to generate high-quality, authentic video footage of their farms and ranches. This effort will expand the video available on
www.BeefFromPastureToPlate.org and will extend online visibility of America’s farms and ranches through popular Web site like YouTube.
